So, another month later and we're on vacation again. This time we have ventured out to the west coast for a week in San Diego. Otherwise known as Phillip's favorite place in the world. And also known as the place we'll probably soon be living. Seeing as we stopped by and spoke with a realtor this morning, I suppose that means it's getting serious. Almost as serious as the sticker shock of seeing the prices for homes.

Well, here goes nothing. Since I decided to update my webpage and there was an option to include a blog on it, you're now reading my blog. Being the first week in June, of course we're on vacation in Florida. It's not exactly what Phillip had planned (and I will take the blame for it) but here we are again. And while Mother Nature isn't cooperating, having rained every day we've been here with tropical storm watches, record rainfalls and flash flood warnings, I think we've still managed to make the best of it. As we always seem to do.
There is something very cathartic about vacations. Especially my vacations with Phillip. We both have needed this time away - both from work and our regularly hectic lives lately - and I think it's been good for us. Seven years ago we couldn't figure out how to vacation together. After one particularly bad vacation, we've found a way to spend quality time together. Not always with extravagant plans or minimalistic schedules, but what happens usually turns out to be magical in its own way. So while we haven't been hanging out by the pool, lounging at the beach or taking AAA-recommended side trips, we've had a great time being together. And ultimately that's what our vacations are - for us to reconnect , relax and be ourselves. At worst it will get us through to the next vacation and at best it brings us closer still. And after almost 17 years of being together, there's not much more I can ask for. |
